How long does a submission take to the entire database?

Submission Wiz is a multi port utility which will submit your web site with lightning speed! A typical submission will take between 10-20 minutes, depending on your internet connection.

Are upgrades free?

All of our database updates are free. We update the database 1 time per month, and the update can be downloaded by opening the program and hitting the Updater button. From time to time we will come out with feature updates, which enhance the use of the software. These updates are typically $40 - $60 and are not mandatory. We come out with these types of updates 1 - 2 times per year. All bug fix or basic enhancement updates are also free.

How often should we submit our web site to the search engines?

Our suggestion is that you can submit your web site up to 1 time per month to the major search engines, and then up to 1 time per day to the FFA's and smaller directories. If you submit your site to the entire database at least 1 time per month, you will keep your site active with the search engines and increase or maintain your engine positions.

How often is the database updated?

The database is maintained and updated 1 time per month. You will be emailed when this happens (registered users), and you can also check for new updates by opening the program and hitting the Updater button.

Can I put the software on more than 1 computer

A:

Submission Wiz is a SINGLE STATION USER LICENSE program. This means you can load it on 1 computer. If it's loaded on more than 1 system, the program will detect this an shut down both copies. We realize that many people like to have a copy on their laptop or additional system. We offer these users the option of purchasing additional keys at 50% off.

Q:

I plan to reinstall the operating system, format my hard drive or transfer my work to a new computer and I want to have all my TS projects from the previous location to be available on my new computer. Is this possible and what is the best way to do this?

A:

Enter the program folder on your old computer. You'll see the folder 'DB'. Save it with all its subfolders and files on some other media in order to transfer it to the new location (hard drive, etc.). This is the only way for you to retain all of your projects. Then after you have installed the program on your new location, copy this backup of the 'DB' folder over the one that has been created during the installation. When you run the program, all of your previous project should be available.
Also it is useful to run database update after you have transferred files.

Q:

I keep getting blue screens when I submit projects using your program (I tried both main submit module and scheduler) I am running Win95. What do I do?

A:

The problem may be about the bugs in Winsock 1.1 (this is a known problem of WinSock 1.1), that is supplied with the Internet access system. Try to update your Winsock 1.1 to Winsock 2.0.

Q:

I can not uninstall the program in order to install the newer update. There are no messages displayed during the uninstallation process, but the program is not uninstalled. What should I do?

A:

To uninstall the program, follow the instructions:
1. Make sure that neither the main program nor scheduler is currently running.
2. Go to "Start => Control panel => Add/Remove Programs".
3. Find Submission Wiz in the list and select it.
4. Press the "Add/Remove" button
5. The uninstallation process should start.
6. Try installing a new version.

If this doesn't work, try another way:
1. Go to the folder Submission Wiz and delete all .exe files.
2. Run the program DeleteKey (link to the file).
3. Try installing a new version.
4. Run Update after starting the program.

Q:

I've received the following message while uninstalling the program:
UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:
ERROR NUMBER: 0x80070725
DESCRIPTION: Incompatible Version Of The (RPC) Stub
SETUP WILL NOW TERMINATE
And I cannot finish the uninstallation. How can I handle that?

I run the program, and it displays messages about problems ("Invalid file (header)" or "ERROR table is empty") with these files:

What should I do?

This could happen during the database update. We suggest you do the following:
Uninstall the program and enter the 'DB' folder in the program folder.
Delete the following files in this folder:
category.pdb
class.pdb
d001d.pdb
d001y.pdb
def_cat.pdb
engine.pdb
ftype.pdb
popul.pdb
Then reinstall the program in the same folder.

Q:

When we restarted the program after updating the database, we've noted that we have significantly less than 700000+ engines we used to have, and there are engines with blank names. How can we fix this problem?

A:

This could have happened during the database update. We recommend that you do the following:
Uninstall the program and enter the 'DB' folder in the program folder.
Delete the following files in this folder:
class.pdb
engine.pdb
Then reinstall the program in the same folder.

Q:

I've submitted my site to all of your engines a few days ago, but I do not see my site in top 200 on the search engines. What's wrong?

A:

The matter is that your site is not indexed immediately upon submission. Some engines may index your site two months after you submit it. That's why until your site is not indexed; it won't appear in the search results at all.
